Forums - Gaming - IGN: Mass Effect 2 is Better than Uncharted 2 - "Deal with it, fanboy"

This kinda stuff wouldn't be floating around if people would just play their games instead of foaming at the mouth about review scores and other people's opinions.

Interesting.

Basicly, anyone who thinks Uncharted 2 is better... Is a fanboy? Amusing...

And just to say something else. RuneScape is one of the greatest games of all time. Also greater than both Mass Effect 2 and Uncharted 2... Probably combined.

Duh, you didn't know that which game is better is entirely objective?

This guy for example is a complete moron, everyone knows SaGa Frontier is better than Mass Effect 2.

He needs to learn to deal with it.

This is coming from the guy who bought a 360 and enjoys achievements. Downloaded tons of XBLA titles and paid for Live because I loved Netflix. This is the guy who bought Mass Effect and enjoys it. This is the same guy who bought Fable 2 first day and doesn't regret it.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I suggest you use the search engine on IGN to display all the "ps3 perspective" articles then you will see exactly what his intentions are, this article in particular...

I wish I could get paid for posting flamebait

He gives very good reasons why it's a better game, even if they are diffrent games.

One of the big things is ME2 is a larger game with more to do, that should be alone in making it a better game for many.

And Uncharted 2 is extremely linear, but they are different games (they have a different audience).

Unlike ME2 you mean? They play differently but its not like ME2 is open world with lots of options. The storytelling is different, but the basic linear stuff is basicly the same. You still have to go through all the neccessary checkpoints throughout a mission. Unless you talk to X you cant access Y.

@

Did you played ME2? This game has a lot of exploration.

-Edit-

Actually, even ME1 has much more exploration than Uncharted 2.

Well that's what i was saying. The storytelling is different.

In ME you have a "city" with mission points. You go to that mission point and accept your mission. But as soon as you're "in game" so to speak, there isn't really that much room for exploration or out of the box thinking when shooting your way through enemies. You cant access rooms in advance or attack from another angle. You enter, you fight, you go where you're suppose to go. You cant get lost, get stuck or miss out on what the game wants you to do and know.

And the same goes for U2, but without mission points. Both are very linear when it comes to actual gameplay.

Interesting read, and also a blatant attempt at getting more hits by riling up fanboys.  I thought the last bit was the most amusing part of the article.

"but as gamers we need to be able to put aside system biases and say that one is better. For me, it's Mass Effect 2."

He implies that people can and will have varying opinions about which game is better, which is completely at odds with his initial argument:

"The thing that a lot of people missed, however, is that Mass Effect 2 is indeed a better game than Uncharted 2, and I don't know how readers can be so blinded by their fanboyism to deny it."

I tried playing ME three times. I never got past that one alien dude biting the dust.

I played U2 all the way through.

I loved U2. Hell, its my second favorite ps3 game and my second favorite new IP this gen.

lulz. I hate ign x]

Haven't read the article but if he opens up with "you're blind if you dont see it" and ends with "well we cant say one is better than the other, but for Me, its ME2" -its obvious its only purpose is hits. Which is quite sad. Long live magazines that cant afford to spend mag space on these kinds of articles.

If we are going to go this route, then I will argue that Uncharted 2 is better than Mass Effect 2 and I will say "Deal with it, fanboys". I do this just to do this, and hope it causes even more confusion.
