The very idea that someone would even put Mass Effect in the same league as Uncharted makes me want to laugh my ass off.

While I agree with it (I don't care for Uncharted, and love Mass Effect), this is really pointless. Both are great games, in different genres, and it's good that we can all play titles as good as these.

It was a bait article for hits, professional video game journalists have been doing this all gen because they know we are dumb enough to give them those hits whenever they post "flame articles."

The real problem are the consumers (you and me) that allow these journalists to continue feeding us biased flam articles because we are again too stupid to realize that the more we hit these web sites up the more support they earn to carry on their flaming article. Our hits are like jet fule for these assholes.
And so what if ME2 is better than UC2, that's fine, but the "Deal with it, fanboy" comment at the end makes this all too obvious.
Clearly this was written to fan the flames in order to gain hits.

LOL..... the best part is the editor can flame and troll but when people in the comments section flame and troll about the article they get banned or warned, or suspended. So again the little gets pissed on while the bigger heads get to disobey their own rules.

People in this thread need to calm down.  The ME series is actually averaging higher on Metacritic than the Uncharted series.  ME won the first round, and they tied for the second.  Having played through both games entirely (unlike an enormous amount of people in this thread), I can comfortably say that Mass Effect 2 is the better game for one simple reason.  Both of them are as awesome as eachother, but Mass Effect 2 simply lasts longer.

And of course, people will make the whole "quantity vs quality" statement.  But that is just it.  Mass Effect 2 is the same awesome quality as Uncharted 2, only with a hell of a lot more of it.  My first Uncharted 2 run through took me 10 hours, my first ME2 runthrough took forty.  And there are an awful lot more incentives to replay ME2 than Uncharted 2.

I will say again.  Most of the responses to this article belay an unwillingness on the part of the poster's to actually read the entire article.  The poster, who has a history of strong PS3 support, clearly and legitimately justifies his position.

Meh it's just their opinnion...no need to get worked up over it right? I've talked to ppl who shit on both games and say they both suck... what do I say to them?

I do believe that Uncharted 1 was better than the original Mass Effect. Then Uncharted 2 came along and was a HUGE step up from the first game. I haven't actually got around to playing Mass Effect 2 yet cause I've been devoting my time to FFXIII. Once I do get the chance to beat it, I'll be able to say for myself which one is better. ATM though I'm obviousley leaning towards Uncharted.

But the whole reason IGN made an article like that:

1 - Hits (obviousley).

2 - They are one of the only ones to do it. I mean, most of the community either disagrees with them or just hasn't said anything yet. Uncharted 2 was the overwhelmingly picked as GOTY 2009. We haven't had that happen in a couple of years. Obviousley there will be news articles popping up when someone believes they have just played a game that is EVEN better.

"Deal with it, fanboy"?? I mean, it's ok to give reasons why they THINK it's better, but to say that? How low have standards become in the gaming journalism industry?

Mind you, I'm loving Mass Effect 2, and I think it's very worthy of its scores. But why listen to the fanboy ravings and go ahead and compare merits with Uncharted 2, a totally different genre?

Having played both games I really cant see why would anyone compare the two. Sure, Mass Effect 2 lacks pretty much any RPG elements (it does have dialogue trees and the skills upgrade system, but so does Arkham Asylum) but it's still far from being a pure action game.

And besides if we were to compare ME2 and U2 as action games then ME2 would clearly lose.
