damn no interest in media playback?

I guess the PS3 wins, I had no idea people would use the PS3 for things like that. However stuff like the photo viewer is less relevant now that they took out 2 USB ports and the card reader in later models.

You could always get a USB port hub to make more USB ports.  I haven't tried that out yet, so I don't know if that would work.

Is that a dynamic theme on the PS3? I don't own any, but damn! I may have to buy a few. That Afrika footage would look nice on my TV.

Yes it is a dynamic theme. IMO LBP Theme and Heavy Rain Theme are the best. The LBP theme changes depending on what the time is. So cool!.

You can play 1080P or 720P mkv files using Playstation Media Server. It's a third party media server that transcodes files on the fly for the PS Media Player. 1080P requires a gigabit connection or it is too laggy since some files transfer over 10mb/s. 720P works just fine over a standard router.
