Well, for that to happen, it'll need to be a high quality game. And given tri-Ace's track record... uh... yeah...

You must remember that is cost a lot less to produce PSP game compared to PS3. With similar sales PSP version definetely makes more profit.

Well, the engine and most of the assets were already in place on PS3... honestly, in this case I doubt a PS3 version would've been all that much more costly, considering they had to start from the ground up on PSP. Also, PSP games don't sell shit outside Japan.

VC has not performed that well in Japan on the PS3. It took large marketing, best edition and Anime to raise sales to a decent point with majority of sales coming at reduced price. So i understand the decision to put it on PSP , which is a great platform for RPG's on which games tend to sell, it has a larger userbase and it reduces the costs.

The Last Hope and Infinite Undiscovery were partially outsourced, while EoE was made by the same team that did make Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, nevertheless the user reviews so far have been pretty positive and the Japanese that I have spoken on PSN love it so far.
It's true though that the two mentioned games have hurt Tri-Ace reputation. Even in Japan, The Last Hope is seen as a mediocre game. Shame they have killed the series.
Anyway, 1st week comparisons...

Valkyrie Profile 2 was partially outsourced too actually (to internal Square Enix staff). All tri-Ace's 3D games have been so far. Feelplus worked on the two previous HD games in a support capacity anyway (mostly modeling and art assets) the game design was 100% tri-Ace. I expect there'll be some subcontracting with EOE too...
