Comparison Says PS3 Slim Box Maybe Kinda Realish

The rumored pictures of the PS3 slim immediately brought, like a chorus of boos at Question Time, denunciations of fakery. They sure got us in trouble with a lawyer-mans. But someone thinks the retail box, at least, is real.

PlayStation Lifestyle took a look at the Slim Box, compared to the PSP Go Box, and thinks the Slim box is standardized enough that it isn't fake, which gives credence to the pics of the hardware itself. Saith PSL:

The box has a strikingly similar layout as the PSP Go box. The logo on the bottom left hand side, along with the PSN logo, and memory capacity on the bottom right hand side. Also the Sony, and PlayStation logos in each respective upper corners. Lastly the colored XMB wave "stripe" across the middle of the box with the PS3/PSP layered over it is the same on each box, just using a different color for each box.

Not saying they're fake, not saying they're real, just letting you make up your mind with more information. And queue C&D from a Taiwanese attorney in 3 ... 2 ...

Yea, I had posted this in a PSP go thread and it's interesting to think about. I want to see what they'll roll out, when, and for what price if this is all real.

Awww man, not that ugly plastic on the slim!!!!!!!!!!!! NO! I want a shiny slim.

Meh, after hearing all the complaints about the shiny PS3 and how it shows fingerprints, dust, and scratches.... It's been fun hearing complaints about the finish of the rumored Slim.

Finger prints or no finger prints, i love the shiny plastic of the PS3, those that complain are just looking for something to complain about.

I'll just have to make it shiny myself, maybe I'll clear coat mine or something.

Sony can't win can they?!

Matt plastic will make it look more like a PS2, so i suppose it might please some.

Good to see Kotaku is on the case... by posting pictures, sitting on the fence, and getting page views for doing absolutely nothing.

Good find. and maybe the finnish we seen was only a prototype. eva way i dont really care as long as it helps sales and helps towards a more profitable sony then i am all for it. I just guess the phat PS3 will always be the most sexy console untill next gen roles around

i thought the slim PS3 was nothing but a total fake, but as soon as the PSP Go came to light and I saw that the leaked box from a while ago was real I think the Slim is definitely real.
