Forums - Microsoft - A bad rumor I heard about downloadable content..

I heard that MS started the practice of putting locked content on game discs so that people would have to pay extra for all this content via 'downloadable content.'  I doubt this is true but has anyone else heard it?

I think Konami did that with one of their music games on the original Xbox. Unlocking content that is already on the disc by paying for "downloadable content" online. So it's true that this has been done in the past, but I am not sure if Microsoft started this.

 So it's true.. -stratches chin-

I am pretty sure this is the issue with Disgaea 3 as well on the PS3.

No... Microsoft doesn't do this... however EA has done this on a couple occassions.
