Since the year's bout to end and it looks like the ps3 won't beat 360 08 ytd sales and there already have rumors of ps3 dropping the price 09 march what do you think ps3 will do in 09 with there price and sku's I personaly think 4 this year  they should of bundled the 80gb with uncharted 4 399$  instead of the 499$ 160gb. Now little boy and girls will open up ther 399$ 80gb with no game to play unless they download a demo at least last year they had a movie to watch that shows me that sony needs every dollar they can get now

So with these rumors of March 09 ps3 80gb going to be 299$ or even 349$ are unlikely to me the rumors said that the ps3 will be in a competitve price range So a 80g ps3 with 349$ price doesn't sound competitve and i don't think they will drop it 100$ in March as that will make sony loose more money i've noticed that last week's NA 360 sales were 190k with bout 80k being pro and elite's the rest are all 199$ arcades and in europe 230k with only 30k being pros and elite's bout 200k being the very cheap  £129 €179 accourding to my thread PS360wii console pricing history

So i think around march 09 there won't be a ps3 price cut just as sony said but i perdicte a new ps3 sku for 299$ it will be a 20gb with probably no wifi and the same 2 usb ports (they may even take some of the letters out that spell playstation 3 on the front of it) so march it will be 80g with a game bundled for 399$ and 20g for 299$ i think the 160g will be gone after Jan much like the 80g Motorstorm was last year 

After that things get fishy around the holidays ps3 could drop the 80g and 20g by 50$ to 349 & 249 or drop the 20g completly and have just the 80g at 299

I know leo-j and others are confident a 299$ ps3 can turn this gen around

In my opinion sony will need to cut the price in march, or it will be a very bad year for them.

How do you think they will cut the price

My prediction is no price cuts before Fall next year, the reason being that they'll continue focusing on profitability. If the dollar/euro recover, it could happen around March, but I don't expect that to happen by then.

i think that no matter what happens they are going to wait for the dollar to get stronger and then think about a price cut, and if is not at least US$100 they should even make the effort because it wont make a difference
