There seems to be war or something with players.Sony,Mircrosoft and Nintendo have been good to me,producing games and consoles and much more for players,for people.

Here is few thinks that why we should respect all three,and make no war.

Nintendo.

Well Nintendo made the consoles to world,we shall thank them for creating game business.

They brought us in 1974 Magnavox Odyssey home video game system,but the real deal came in 1985,when NES came with Super Mario Bros.

1989 came Game Boy.

Thats the beginning of all.

I personaly have Super Nintendo and I have had Gameboy color,Gameboy Sp,NIntendo Ds Lite.

Megaman,Mario,Zelda and Castlevanias have been reason for buying these.

Nintendo did lose "console wars" to Sony, but still every1 knows Mario and Nintendo.Wii have shown us that that there is still power at Nintendo name.

Microsoft

Almoast everyone uses Windows in their Pc, so thanks to MS we pretty much can play games with my laptop.

If Windows wouldnt be so popular I dont think there would be so meny Pc games.

Xbox came in 2001 fighting with Sonys Ps2 and Nintendos GameCube,but lost to Sony,not sure about GameCube.

Meny games from Ps2 came to Xbox,like Gta:s and Mgs 2 subistance,but most famous game for Xbox is Halo.

There is really only few good games for Xbox,Ninja gaiden and Halo.For me atleast. Xbox is nowdays forgotten console.

Xbox 360, first this gen console to come out of market in 2005,now sold over 19 million.

It has meny great games,like Gears of war,Halo 3,Gta Iv,Cod 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2.It also brougth us meny good Arcade games. Xbox 360 pretty much showed us where we are going in this genre.Xbox 360 have had trouble because famous Red Ring Of Death, and for its "FPS games only" but there is coming meny RPG games and other games for family.

I personaly havent ever played Xbox or Xbox 360.Im just not interested.

Sony (Well.I lived with this company.Ps1---ps3.)

It was woking at beginning with nintendo,but then the made Playstation brand.

Its not only Playstation, they make LCD:s,cameras and all kind of stuff.

PS1 launched 1994 in japan,with Cd player which was cool then.It has sold over 100 million units.

Ps2 came in 2001 with dvd-player,it has now sold about 128 million and is still selling.

PSP came in 2004,with UMD-player and has now sold over 34 million.

PS3 came on 2006,with Blu-ray and has now sold about 14 million and is doing good after price drop from 699€ to 479e.

Well,Playstation is brand that every1 knows.Thats because The Games.

There is so meny great games,here is few:Metal Gear solid,Final Fantasy,Grandia,Breath of fire,Tekken,Soul Calibur,Crash Bandicoot,Wipeout,Gran Turismo,GTA,Tomp Raider,Resident Evil,Spyro,Silent hill,Vagrant Story,Ico,Devil may cry,Onimusha....I could do this all day.

Meny of these games were only for Playstation, but nowdays there aint enymore exlusive games so meny new versions of these games have come other consoles or pc.

So,you should not be UltimateFanboYMisterX and talk shi to other gamers that play just like you why just cant or dont wanna play your games or your console..

Really,i just love Playstation,dont like Xbox, I like Nintendo but i dont have enything to play enymore.

you did not provide any innovations all these 3 companies brought to the table, and you was more in to the sony stuff than nintendo or microsoft.

I thought this was a brilliant thread from reading the title, but then i read the article haha.

Ok, First of all this is not an account of developments, it is just history.

Let put some facts in the table you obviously do not know.

Nintendo developed the scheme of controller layout used till now (SNES controller) in its 2 competitors
Nintendo basically give 3D adventure games the face they have now, with Mario 64 and Zelda OoT the basically defined the genre.
They have defined handheld console technology over and over.

Microsoft
Probably its most powerful innovation, or implementation has been online gaming, they used the support and experience they had on PC and put in on practice on Xbox, bringing great results and giving a true online experience, task that both Nintendo and Sony where unable to realize (yes, there was online gaming since the age of SNES).

Sony

Basically worked over proven formulas to give its boost to PS1 and 2, and succeeded at giving some importance at CG Videos inside the game. They were able to make the PS2 a console that both kids and grownups wanted to play, and there is it main contribution, before PS consoles where just for kids.



Of course a lot of thing are missing, but this is the tenure an article like this should have, so next time, check wikipedia, and some sources instead of giving only your personal opinion.

I'll said what they did to my country.
- Super Famicom bring the first era of "game shop" to Thailand.(you can go to this shop and play games by paid 10-15 Baht/hour).and these game shop spread though country after that.
- PS1&2 continued the dark age to children in Thailand (They addicted in games and do everything to go to those shops.And do everything to get money to pay for it ,even steal from their parent ,sell drugs etc.)

And after that make the birth of "Internet Cafe".Actually it shouldn't call cafe ,what they did just let 8+ years old kids to play Counter-Strike as long as they want(That's about 5-12+ hours ,yeah...12+ hours).

This gen. consoles are too expensive for those game shops to invest ,and they're more interest in MMO on PC more than consoles.Then "Console's Dark age" is over.(and another "Dark age" on PC has begun...)

So from what i see on Wii's make parent happy because Wii makes those children can play games with them ,decrease an age gap.

PS3 become a hi-society console ,which one have PS3 means they rich and cool.

Xbox&Xbox360 mostly come from PC owner ,nothing special about them to say.

So i can say that what Nintendo doing is try to compensate what they did long time ago.And Sony?I don't want to say bad to them ,they just do business as same as other did.I havn't have much to say about MS console ,because mostly they work on PC not console.

Nintendo didn't make the Magnavox Odyssey, Magnavox did. Also it was released in 1972 not 1974...

Currently I think Nintendo is bring gamers motion controls and 1:1 motion, microsoft bring gamers XBL, and sony give games high tech console with great gfx.
