A mod blocked my other thread because i suggested that xbox scorpio is a 9th gen console.

Phil spencer says he doesnt want an upgraded xbox one xbox-one-and-a-half/amp/?client=ms-android-att-us

And the ori developer (microsoft developer) says xbox scorpio is a full blown next gen console.

So i will ask my question again, is sony late to the party or is ps4 pro going to last the the whole 9th generation? Ps4 pro would have to last at least another 5 years but will games look subpar on that system compared to scorpio? Remember scorpio will look 50% better but there are diminishing returns.

I think microsoft is going to surprise us with the scorpio. People compare scorpio specs with gaming pc specs but remember consoles always look much better than pc if you compare at raw specs because consoles are more optimized always.

Scorpio will do 4k gaming easily and that is the future.

Agreed, Scorpio IS a next gen console hardware for Microsoft.

New architecture AND performance target, just happens to be in a forward and backward compatible software ecosystem like PC.

As rumors swirl of a potential PlayStation 4.5 and an Xbox 1.5, we can all but rule out the latter. Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, isn’t interested in offering an upgraded Xbox One

A Statement made 3 months before the Scorpio Reveal. The Reveal that very much emphasised it is infact an XBO with statements following said reveal saying there would be no exclusives on Scoprio.

How about a post-reveal statement from Phil Spencer?

 

I saw Aaron Greenberg tweeted to say there will be no Scorpio exclusives. Is that right?

Phil Spencer: That's right. When you're buying a console game from us, you know that console game will run on your original Xbox. No-one gets left behind. We said that on stage. Your Xbox One S and Scorpio. That's an important design point for us. They're all part of the same family.

Thats false we already know scorpio will have vr excluvlsives and third party exclusives hes talking about microsoft first party non vr only

That doesn't confirm anything. In fact, as even the article says, it's a vague statement.
