Yep I'm glad Kotaku is going down never liked them. I doubt IGN would let there trash Journalism affect them.

Unfortunately this means Kotaku and Co probably aren't going anywhere for the time being.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

A marriage made in heaven..

I imagine ZD will at least clean house where Gawker is concerned, if they aren't just absorbing them into their other websites wholesale. Not a huge fan of IGN, but they run a relatively tight ship comparex to the "say whatever for the clicks" nature of Gawker.

I would imagine that it all depends on how profitable Kotaku is as a publication. If both IGN and Kotaku are doing well then there is nothing to be gained by merging them or destroying one of them. A lot of parent corporation run competing businesses under the same umbrella.

Of course, if one is lagging substantially behind the other then, yeah, could be lights out. I doubt all Gawker properties will make the cut. Only one I care about is Lifehacker.

Gawker.com, though, can rot in hell.

Nice to see Gawker going down. I mean they were ordered to take the video of the sex tape down and thought it'd be a brilliant idea to not only keep it up but also release a statement saying they won't listen to the court order.

Fuck 'em.

Don't like IGN, but I'm not sure who's worse, them or Kotaku.

I go on IGN and Kotaku on a daily basis and not sure if anybody's noticed but alot of times IGN would post up articles that Kotaku has already posted up.  I thought it was a coincidence at first but then IGN started posting even the odd random articles that Kotaku posts up that isn't usually IGN's type of articles.  I felt like there's always somebody at IGN going through Kotaku's website and copy what they've put up since IGN would always post up the same thing after Kotaku.

And now with this potential merger it just makes even more sense.  So people can hate on Kotaku, but I think they've provided IGN with lots of articles lol

Of course this is all my speculations lol
