Forums - PC - Rise Of The Tomb Raider and XCOM 2 Are Selling Well On PC

Tagged games:

Rise of the Tomb Raider has quickly charted and is confirmed to have sold at a minimum 430,000 copies on Steam alone. This brings its lifetime sales across PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 to near the two million mark, with a PS4 release yet to come.

In addition, XCOM 2 has surpassed 500,000 copies sold in less than a week. This figure puts it well beyond what XCOM: Enemy Unknown achieved in the same timeframe despite being available on three platforms.

Both of these releases garnered outstanding reviews, but were the focus of disappointment in regards to game performance. Many PC gamers have had issues running these games with expected frame rates and stability. Future driver updates may help some, but in the case of XCOM 2 its heavily modified UE4 engine will remain a hindrance for anyone expecting to max out the game.

PC gaming is off to a great start in 2016, with huge titles including Star Citizen, World of Warcraft: Legion, Total War: Warhammer, and multiplatform titles yet to come.

Deserved sales. One is a good port of a fun game and the other is simply a great game.

And I'm quite surprised that XCOM 2 has sold more than its predecessor despite being only on PC, given how many of you have complained that it's not available on your console.
