“When you light a candle, you also cast a shadow.” That inspired me to propose, for the first time, that Anakin’s ghost could come back … If we see Anakin Skywalker, because he does flow back and forth between Darth Vader and Anakin, let’s see him as a character with a dark and light side. The reason Luke is this whole new entity is because he was the first to acknowledge his own dark side — that it was not separate from him.”

Yeah, to pull that off they would have to make a really good explanation of how Anakin returns or is returned when he is dead and apparently very happy of joining Yoda and Obi-Wan in the Force.

Maybe those ideas didn't work out and the screenwritter left.

Glad they didn't. The whole first six movies was basically Anakin's fall and redemption. Let him ready in peace (and in pieces).

So, Anakin is back, but as Rey. I think Rey is the second coming of Anakin.

I'm thinking he'll be in VIII or IX, because... uhh... you know. Stuff.

I love Vader, but let him stay gone. His ending was perfect. To me we could see Luke find redemption of a sort in coming films.
