Has anyone heard of an instance of that?

It would be interesting to know because most publishers do. But since Nintendo apparenly doesn't like poeple who display their content for free on the internet it seems they might also not like sending their games out for free to these parasites.

I don't actively follow any Nintendo centric channels so I really don't know.

They do. They also invite several people to test some games months before release.
Of course you need to be big enough for that.

I only know that some of the more popular German Youtubers get some stuff months before the release.

Like Bayonetta 2 in early August.

They also have Majora's Mask 3D for a while.

Thanks, didn't know that. Though from what I've heard, these controlled review events where the publisher invites the reviewers are not really everyone's favorite.

I believe that they do. There are a few channels that I've seen that received review copies.  Some that I've seen are Jwittz and the Completionist.

Gamexplain definitely gets some. He has MM 3D right now.

He also had Smash Wii U and had Q & A session before release but he could only reveal stuff he is allowed.

I hope the contracts they get with their review copy includes a passage that they won't have to share monetization with Nintendo of the videos that are a direct result of the free review copy.

As PixelPerfect pointed out, Youtubers like The Completionist and JWittz get review copies. It seems some big Youtubers, some focused on Nintendo, get review copies. I think I've heard NintendofanFTW has received review copies before. Not sure if other like ProJerad also get copies.

ProJared gets review copies as well. Since like 1 year now.

Yeah, I'm also pretty sure NiNTENDOMiNATiON also gets review copies.
