Forums - Gaming Discussion - Vita is an okay portable if you're a Playstation fan, a great portable if you're not.

Tagged games:

Sony should be marketting the Vita towards gamers outside of the Playstation fanbase, because if you're a gamer that owns a Playstation 3 or has owned the system you're not really getting the benefit of owning it.  As a Playstation fan you get a great hardware portable with remote play to play any Playstation 4 game whether you're at home or connected through wifi at any other location in the world.  cross buy with many digital games, PSX, PSP, and PSN games.

Unfortunately, if you own a PS3 and you want to own the best version of a multiconsole game and you're not too interested in double dipping for a lesser version, then the Vita has a huge lack of exclusives.  There are exclusives, very good games, but there's very little that you can't play on the PS3 or very little of anything to someone who is ingrained in the Playstation universe.

So to Nintendo fans, portable only fans, and to a lesser extent, Xbox fans, Sony made this portable for you, not the Playstation fans, and you'd be doing yourself a favor by going out there and purchasing it.  If you've recently bought a PS4 but haven't owned a PS3 and maybe 360, then it's still worth owning the Vita.

Towards  people exclusive to Nintendo and portables, the Vita has a lot of great third party titles that you haven't played.  Most of these games might be on a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, but if you don't have either one, then what's it to you?  You're missing out on the games either way.  Then the Xbox 360 owners who haven't owned a PS3, there are the multiconsole Vita titles that happen to be Sony exclusives.  Additionally, for all non Playstation fans, there are the large amount of digital PSX games, PSP, and PSN games.

You will want to put in the effort to see which of the Vita multiconsole games are worth buying or not though as games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, etc, start are unplayable with how bad the framerate is while other games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Dragon's Crown, etc run fine.

You non Playstation fans should get a Vita.  You'd find it to be a much better portable than us Playstation fans and you'll help us out by the possibility of more support.  Win win for all of us.

Times ago my hope was Vita ... Today my hope has died !

Cred to all Vita lover

Cry / the end

PS plus says otherwise. Thanks to PS+ which I originally bought for PS3 and extended for PS4 I got so many great games for Vita as a bonus. Now I just need a Vita TV to actually play them.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Vita could be the new Gamecube if Sony just give a little thing to it, but we all know that Sony don't even give a f*** to Vita

I love the vita. I find most of the rpgs i enjoy are on the vita.

Consoles are dominated by shooters and bro games but 3ds and mainly vita is where most of the games i truly enjoy are.

In short if you love shooters and sports then a handheld isint for you.

Vita is great for everyone but Sony treats it like its shit. I don't understand. It's much better than PSP but the library is weak

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

To me if you enjoy Japanese games like I do it is the best system on the market right now.

Well I still desperately want to play Uncharted. The Vita is a lot more interesting to me than the PSP ever was, I can see the value in the device. When I finally have a little expendable money, I can easily see myself getting a Vita. Because, well, why not?

PS Vita is by far my favorite hand held i've ever had, and i've owned almost all of them.
