Come on, 5/10 for story? What about the characters? The epic chase through castle after castle? The pulse pounding relationship between Peach and Mario? The sexy romance scene where Peach temporarily gets Stockholm Syndrome
I'll comment on the story part as to me and many others it is one of the definitive stories in video games. Nintendo got it so right back in the days that they have reused it or some slight variation of it over and over in the past three decades.
It is not just Nintendo though, many other developers over the years have imitated and used the story to pay homage to one of the best video games of all time.
