The PS4 looks to be the defacto console of the 8th gen and it's easy to develop for. Could this mean that we could see an influx of trash games that the Wii saw and the PC sees on the PS4? Or will SONY flex it's quality control muscles and keep at least most of the junk out of its library? What say you?

Perhaps but we will also see a ton of hidden gems as well.

As long as the good games are there, shovelware is easy to overlook.

There is shovelware on every console, but that will be controlled and they will do the best to bring the greatest indies over there, not the cheapest.

Meh, games are too expensive to shovelware nowadays. I can't see it happening like in the Wii's case.

We saw it on PS1 and PS2 and it never bothered me. As long as the quality is there have no issue with cheap shovel ware titles.

In the psone and ps2 the same thing happened but they never shined above the great quantity of great games on those platforms

I think the problem with the Wii was that most quality games were 1st party, and 3rd party, a big chunk of them, tried to make shovelware to satisfy new users in the market without making much attempts to make quality games for the "hardcore"

I think most shovelware is actually on mobile nowadays, plus PS2 had plenty sold 150m+ so I wouldn't worry about it

Not going to lie I am already really tired of looking at the tv and video section and playroom on my main screen that can't be deleted, but if good games come I will overlook it.  I bet they won't do it with games but I could certainly see them doing it with apps.

You can't avoid it sooo every platform will have to deal with it including the PS4.
