Forums - Sony Discussion - Mario Andretti’s 1948 Hudson now available in Gran Turismo 6

Every legacy starts somewhere, and for the legendary race car driver Mario Andretti, his love and passion for racing started with the purchase of a beat up 1948 Hudson shell. Along with the help of his brother Aldo and a few of their closest friends, the car was rebuilt piece by piece over a span of two years, where it took its first victory at a local racetrack near his home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

The result of the project was ultimately the beginning of Mario Andretti’s legendary racing career though Indy, Daytona, and Formula 1 that lasted for more than 30 years.

For the first time in history, we are proud to officially release Mario Andretti’s 1948 Hudson in Gran Turismo 6 – replicated down to every intricate detail including the modified hood, missing fenders with the exposed engine, and the legendary #7 grill on the front.

To properly celebrate the collaboration between Mario Andretti and Gran Turismo, a unique Special Event featuring the 1948 Hudson is available in Gran Turismo 6 from today, 19th December until 17th January 2014.

The 1948 Hudson Hot Lap challenge will take place on Willow Springs International Raceway “Streets of Willow”, giving players the opportunity to be rewarded with the legendary race car upon conquering lap times above a Bronze Trophy target.

Players will also have the option to purchase the legendary Hudson through the Car Dealership if they so choose.

“When it comes to capturing the thrill of racing, Gran Turismo is the only game that can recreate how it really feels to get in a car and race on the greatest tracks around the world,” explains Mario Andretti.

“This is as close to racing an actual race car as you can get in a game. Through Gran Turismo 6, I was able to relive my racing career, see my first car rebuilt just as I did it myself decades ago, and reignite my childhood dreams with my old Hudson.”

They should have given us an oval mud track (perhaps even the one in Nazareth?) to have the hot lap challenges on.

How do you like the game Ethomaz? I don't have it yet, got to wait until christmas, god I can't wait.

I'm love with it... not a complete new game over GT5 but a big upgrade... everything feels better.

And the new feature will come in GT6 2.0... I read this is the point that Sony is not doing so much ad yet because what will drive this game is the new revolutionary feature to be added next year.

The game slogan is "The World is Your Track"

What that means? The key feature are these to come like Community, Course Maker, GPS CM, B-Spec, Remote Races, GT Mobile App... the revolututionary features.

Everything is set to Spring 2014 together with the new 2014 GT Academy.

This is what GT6 was made.

BTW the new Mario Andretti's events are really fun... I didn't finished the career yet because these new events

OMG! Mario Andretti's Event + Sign in Bonus lv.3 = 1.5 Mil Credits.

Yeah I know about all that stuff :) can't wait, one of the reasons why GT5 is my 2nd favourite GT (after GT2), because of all the free stuff post launch in this era of paid DLC we get

Lol it's not even funny how easy it is to get credits in GT nowadays, and just makes me hate the likes of Gamespot who shat on the game because 'it was too hard to earn credits'. The retards should go re-play GT1+2 where it was genuinly hard to earn credits, GT5, and now seemingly GT6 are the easiest GT's in terms of earning credits FFS.
