Hm. But more importantly, doesn't that mean that both consoles' expected stock at GameStop is already sold out? Will Microsoft care if Sony sells more consoles than them if they sell through 100% of their initial shipment, with demand to spare?

ms probably wont care that much if they sell all the consoles its the fanboys on the interwebs that will care

the way i see it is ms and sony really only care if there stock is selling and that they are making a profit the whole 1st place thing doesnt realy mean that much atleast to me

The lists sizes make sense since Sony fans have always had a much stronger online presence. I'm actually surprised it isn't 5x or more in PS4 favor.

Really the first to know list is sort of pointless without knowing preorder numbers.
