Have you ever wondered what kind of gaming environment we would have if Nintendo was no longer in the video game (consoles and handhelds) business? Could you live without no more Marios, Zeldas, Metroids, etc?

Let's assume that Nintendo's decisions with regard to sticking with cartriges instead of CDs for the N64 really did cripple the company.

So what if we had no Wii - how would the gaming industry look right now? What if we had no Nintendo DS?

Would it even matter if Nintendo left the indutry in some form? I mean look at SEGA, they left partly, but the industry is stronger, arguably, than it ever was. So if Nintendo left completely or partly, what do you think the industry would be like today?

what do you mean? i doubt something like that could ever happen in anyones lifetime from now.

they might have to drop out of the hardware business in due time, but that doesn't mean there would be no more nintendo games.

If Nintendo didnt make games anymore then id stop gaming pretty much. They have innovated and revolutionized the industry more than any other developer and they are the only big publisher(besides valve) that havent tried to emulate the whole cinematic/be like movie crap trend that Final Fantasy VII started. Regardless of whether you hate Nintendo or not they are the best software developer. You look at the 10 best selling games ever they are all made by Nintendo, you look at the ten highest rated games of all time a majority of them are made by Nintendo, you look at gaming websites top 50 games of all time you will always see nintendo games in the top ten.

I dont want to live in a world without nintendo in the games industry.

Simply i would quite video games if Nintendo stopped making games or consoles.

the video game industry will not survive without Nintendo... it would be a disaster.

It probably will never happen, even it meant discontinuing their hardware. However, if by some slim chance that it does happen, it would be a sad day for a lot of us.

It would be dramatic cause i wouldnt be getting my fix of Fire emblem, Zelda and Pokémon RPG's.

Besides, you're not factoring in the fact that they also have very sucessful portable hardware.

I would stop console gaming and return to PC only.

I would get more time for other games, as plain and simple as that. But I would cry me to sleep every night for a long long time! And I'm pretty sure the industry would suffer quite a lot. Innovation IS Nintendo's middle name after all :p there is no other company in the history of video games that has done as much as Nintendo - and that's just a fact. Not even Sony or MS together has innovated as much as Nintendo.
