I don't currently have a video game system (except for a Wii that I purchased a few weeks ago that I've decided to sell), and I'm looking to purchase one so that I can finally check out a lot of the games I've missed since I had to sell My PS3 60 GB in 2008 and my 360 RRLOD'd one month after its extended warranty ran out in 2009.

I'm really leaning towards purchasing a new PS3 because the diversity and quality of Sony's First Person Offerings are far superior to Microsoft's in my honest opinion.  I'll cede the shooter genre to Microsoft with Halo and Gears, but shooters have never really been my personal favorite types of games ( I greatly preferred the PC Adventure Games of the Late 80s and then the great Japanese Roleplaying Games of the Super Nintendo through Playstation 2 years).

So, I would pick up the PS3 without any reservations, since the fact that Resistance and Killzone aren't in the same league with Halo and Gears of War doesn't really bother me too much.

However, I always hear that Microsoft received by far the best of the third party games this gen.  And, some of the third party games that caught my eye earlier in the gen were "Fallout 3",  "The Orange Box" ( even though it's a shooter), and more recently games like the new "Devil May Cry" ( I've heard that the trend of  360 getting the better third party games continues right up to the present day), and I would rather not play dramatically inferior versions of all these games (so I might have to find a way to get both a new 360 and a Playstation 3).

So, do you think that all of the 3rd party Games are really much better on 360?

Around the Network

Not all are, but definitely the lion's share is on 360.

A lot of it is stuff you wouldn't really notice unless it was picked out specifically in comparison shots though, so it's never affected my enjoyment of the games I played on PS3 with 'superior' versions on 360.
