Looks like 38 Studios is done now that they have shuttered Big Huge Games.

"According to WPRI, the following memo was sent to all 38 Studios employees earlier today:

"The Company is experiencing an economic downturn. To avoid further losses and possibility of retrenchment, the Company has decided that a companywide lay off is absolutely necessary.

These layoffs are non-voluntary and non-disciplinary.

This is your official notice of lay off, effective today, Thursday, May 24th, 2012."

What do you think will become of the Kingdoms of Amalur MMO? Do you care?

I dont think we will see an Amalur MMO. The game itself was not bad but nothing groundbraking, there is no hype surrounding and it is still no million seller. EA wont take any risks with this MMO. And 38 studios will be closed soon.

Well there has clearly been a great deal of mis-management. You should not make an RPG that relies on selling 3m to break even, if you are a new studio and EA are more interested in Mass Effect 3

I don't think that the MMO will ever get made, there just isn't the interest in the Amalur world
