Why? Are the shipped figures in the consoles companies quarterly statements all that different?

One word. Nintendo is Sparta

I remember Nintendo reported an X amount of millions sellers while vgchartz had X+20 millions for nintendo causing quite some discussions...So yeah like kitler53 said;   ./thread

Nintendo has the First Parties to be able to do it. They also know how to market the heck out of a game while being great at it, too. Something the other two companies seem to not have. Nintendo is King.

Fun (and tragic) fact: Remove all Call of Duty titles and you'll see that the best selling PS3 game (GTA IV) was the only title to break 9 million, followed by GT5 at 7,5.

This tells me that Nintendo games sell well. Not much else.
