It appears that Amazon has price matched the $199 160gig PS3 @ Gamestop! Maybe they're clearing stock for something? PS3 slim 2.0 anyone?

Amazon is probably price matching just to price match... Gamestop could be trying to clear out a surplus of stock, or trying to clear out the 160GB model

Now this is a bit more interesting, seems at the moment to me just a price match or at most the phasing out of a current model.

Not sure what this means. Could be an official price drop at E3, or clearing stock to make room for new models that will release at current or even lower price. Maybe PlayStation will release a PS3 that is "party ready" like I've been predicting. That's cross game chat ready, btw. Doing so would excite some gamers, compete with tge 360's feature, allow talk between PS3 and Vita, and especially help increase the longevity of the console before and after PS4. If they do something like that I hope it runs the XMB faster. That would be one sexy PS3 to have.
