Do you think that sony will release a new Slim PS3 in 2012?
it was 2009 since they last slimmed the PS3, im sure they could make it smaller 3 years later..
(ALSO i put in 'slim' to the tag game option and that came up.. amazing)
I don't think so. If they do, I don't think it will be much slimmer.

Wouldn't a slimmer PS3 make it more prone to overheating? Unless they manage to shove a bigger fan in there.

They could... but will they? I dont think so. Having 3 types of different looking SKUs of the same console will be confusing. We're also 2-3 years away from PS4s launch. They will probably change the insides of the Slim for years to come.

Well, I'm expecting a new hack in early 2012 days, and Sony will try to combat these with useless Firmware updates and other revisions...as always.

I really hope we see the next PS3 re-design this year.
It has been three years since Cell shrank to 45nm, and it is about time it should go down again. I expect to see a 32nm or even a 22nm chip, and RSX could see a shrink to 28nm.
If they can pull this off the current PS3 form factor would be a waste. We all have seen the first shrink, and the 360 shrink. If the chips get smaller, everything gets smaller. In the end, if they can package a lighter smaller PS3 it saves them money on shipping, and gives them more shelf space in stores.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. And it's way cheaper, too, because they need less materials.
