Well.. there in FACT Great teams of different eras... I'll give you an example why I think Jordan is a better scorer the WILT Chamberlain.. Wilt was 7' 2" ( like Shaq ) but back then most centers were 6'7" or 6'8 .. most guards 6'3" .. Wilt was basically so tall .. he was a full grown man playing in a  league of 12 year old kids who are much shorter..  Wilt was a terrible free throw shooter like Shaq.. he didnt have an outside shot.. he was often close or dunking on guys much shorter.. there was simply no way for these shorter men to stop a man much bigger, taller and stronger..  Imagine if Michael Jordan had been guarded by someone John Stocktons height his entire career.. Or  Jordan played in todays league of less contact, no handchecking and 3 second viloations.. Jordan early in his career ( like the year he averaged 37.5 points a game ) didnt get the calls.. he was fouled very hard.. it was like "STREET BALL".. the NBA used to be rough..  You know how Ron Artest ( tries ) to play today ? He always gets called on a flagrant foul !  Back in Jordan's early days guys like Charles Barkely, Charles Oakley, and Bill Lalbeer used to play like that ( like Artest tries to now ) all the time and it was just part of the game.. sometimes fouls were called, but they werent 'flagrants' typically.. Jordan often dunked on guys much taller.. Jordan who was known for his incredible ability to score on anyone and find 'new' ways to score was often what people saw, but his game wasn't one dimensional.. Jordan who is tied with WILT ( for his averages career scoring ) and tied with Wilt for most season leading the lead in scoring is ALSO holds the #2 spot of most steals in the history of the league behind John Stockton.. Jordan actually had more steals the Stockton per season, but Stockton is only #1 because he played longer then Jordan - thus acquiring more steals by playing longer.. You want to see a modern verion of Wilt ? Its Shaq.. but you see Wilt didt have to play against men closer to his size.. Jordan played guys mostly his size.. but sometimes taller and bigger.. the idea was at the time when Jordan was young.. he was so much quicker then most men his size they often tried guarding him with a bigger stronger man, but then Jordan would blow past them or dunk on them.. so they tried someone quicker and slightly shorter that could 'stay' with Jordan off the dribble.. but then Jordan was such a good shooter he would just shoot over them or dunk on them the same as the taller man.. Most teams double and triple teamed Jordan every game early in Jordan career as no single man could stop him..

There is a math equation they use to add up shots from all areas of the floor, including free throws, you lose point for turn overs and get point for assist.. the number you get is called a PER .. ( player efficiency rating )..  they look at PER's and record them every year for every player...of the TOP 5 P.E.R.'s EVER recorded for a season JORDAN has FOUR of the best of five.. whose has 1 of the 5 ? Lebron.. has one.. but one thing ( unfortunately ) that the PER doesnt include is STEALS... Jordan is way ahead of Lebron in steals.. if the PER included steals Jordan would likely have ALL 5 of the top5 FIVE PER's ever !!

TOP ALL-TIME PER SEASONS

Jordans season where he averaged 37.5 points per game is in the top 10 PER's, but it wasnt in the top 5 because his ALL around game was more complete in the above seasons..
