Why is the Madden title always one year ahead of the actual NFL season? This is the 2011 season not 2012.

I don't know, but they are following the NBA style which the season plays to the following year,
and since the NFL Season and Playoffs carries over to February finishing with the Super Bowl,
But they are saying Madden NFL 12, meaning the 12 edition of Madden, and
not following the 2012 format anymore...

I think about this from time to time. I think it's because the season leads into 2012, so it's actually the 11/12 season. The all star game, playoffs, and the Super Bowl also are in 2012, so they probably don't want the game to seem dated to buyers once the season really kicks into gear, which isn't until January.
