There is some drama. But most of these shows are not about drama, but they are educational shows.

Lots of these shows are on History or Discovery channel.  What would you rahter see? Another documentary about gold mining? or people actually doing it?

Same with American Pickers and Pawn Stars. These shows are not in it for the drama but for the History lessons. Instead of a boring show about old stuff or an antique roadshow style shows, they jazz them up and give them a bit more character.

As for what they make. I honestly have no idea. Television shows are notoriously cheap in paying reality talent, so even though they have "tv money" I woulndt think most of them are getting rich off them.  Besides, what human being doesnt want MORE money!

Around the Network

Haha yea.

They are pretty low on the suspense. But I watch and enjoy a few of them as well.

I'd love to know what ANY of these people earn for being on the show.

Love the history channel ones especially Pawn Stars, American Pickers, and American Restoration. I watch them because of the items and history behind the items.

Pawn Stars and the others want to make money so they have to low ball their offers (go to any pawn shop and you will find the same story). That is how they make money just like how Gamestop makes their money. They buy the good for 15 dollars and sell it for 30-45.

Pawn Stars are getting paid decent.  The dufus Chumlee has a Maserati and Land Rover.

Yeah I know. Sometimes it seems they are ripping people off and other times its the other way around I guess.

Yea, they bought a decent amount of fake items.  I believe it was part of their little multiple choice question once after Chumlee bought a fake Gibson guitar.  I think they have probably bought over 10,000 (not sure but it was a pretty high number) fake items since they started.  That is why they usually just bring in their expert friends.

all those shows are fake.
