just a curiosity: which will be the biggest week of the year? this one (ending on the 22nd: last full week before Xmas) or the next one (ending on the 29th with 2 full days of Xmas rush)?

I'm 99.999% sure ,that this one will be the biggest week
thanks! so what kind of sales could be expected from the week ending on the 29th? similar to the last one (ending on the 15th)? lower?
It is by a long shot : )
go back and look look some charts for last year to get an Idea what will happen.
It is by the Biggest in the US and Europe, and it is the Biggest in Japan but the drop is not as big to the next week. I believe it is because I lower % of Japan celebrate Christmas, The sales there die down the second full we of January.

add me, the more the merrier.

well...you're right! i didn't think about using this site to get the info i needed (ok, now i feel quite dumb
).
We had a similar pattern in 2001 (ie last full week before christmas ending on the 22nd)...and back then sales (in NA) were something like that:
week ending 15th 100%,
week ending 22nd 130%
week ending 29th 57%
week ending 5th January 18%
so i have to conclude that the week of Xmas will be even smaller than the last week...

This is extremely likely in all cases except possibly the Wii and only because it was very supply constraiend last week so it "might" do better during the last week since it will be working against a much easier number to hit in the US.
Japan is the only interesting market after christmas(although we do get C mas eve and the 23th to help the week after this year)
I also feel that Wii sales are going to suck... I think Nintendo has tapped into around 50% of January's stock to supply this final push before christmas.

You can't just pull stock from the future, you can only stockpile to get artificial increases.
They are constantly producing and shipping Wii's at a rate of 1.8m a month...the units they produced and shipped after Dec 10th or so won't be able to get on the shelves until Jan 1st at the earliest.
