Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Blue Dragon Ds

Is it a good strategy of Microsoft and Mistwalker to launch it on the DS? Could it be a good strategy to make the Blue Dragon brand more familiar to the japanese audience due the immense popular Nintendo Ds. And at the end of '08 they will have a bigger launch of Blue Dragon 2 because the game is more known.

I didn't know if I was allowed to post it over here but since it is an original Xbox 360 game I thought I was allowed to post it here.

No, it wasn't an MS decision. This game is developed by feel plus/mistwalker and published by AQ Interactive.
Ah and its name is Blue Dragon Plus.

Since MS isn't in, and doesn't appear to want to be in, the handheld business I think it's a great strategy to port all their brands to the DS. Not only would they make a lot of money that doesn't compete with 360, they would strengthen their brand and attract new consumers.

BDP may not be a MS decision, but it'll still help them in the long run.

@celine

Ah your wrong Blue Dragon license is owned by Microsoft, so it was more than likely Microsoft's decision to allow Mistwalker to develop the game on the Nintendo DS.

@OP

It is an excellent way for Microsoft and Nintendo. Nintendo gets a cool franchise that is anime base, and Microsoft benefits with fans jumping aboard the Blue Dragon license, in preparation for the sequel Blue Dragon 2 for the Xbox 360.

Hmm, it seems that your Shadow's are still 3D in the DS game. The characters themselves are sprites though. Any word on the battle system. It looks to be the same as the 360 game. I notice that Szabo is playable in the DS game.

wii60 ftw!
