I'm sorta on the fence with this one.

Honestly, I feel the script was a bit contrived (but perhaps at this point, I knew what to expect).

It is not, I repeat, not better than MGS 1 ... There was a significant shift in gameplay/performance from 1 to 2. MGS 3 just adopted the mechanics from 2 with an additional (albeit annoying) fatigue bar.

I'm giving it a solid 7.9 / 10

This is the Super Mario Galaxy of the Metal Gear Solid series.

Everyone's enthralled with it, though they've played the game twice already without even realizing it.

9.5, in my opinion the best instalment in the series. It was fun to play and The End is one of the funiest to win boss battles if you don't play the savegame for some time :P

Also the end of the story is awesome...

Another accomnplished game however the environments just didn't do it for me in this game. I preferred the enviornments in MGS1/2 compared to this game. However some of the ending scenes were very well done.

If MGS1 could be described as a "Mind Blowing Masterpiece", if MGS2 could be described as an "Awesome Masterpiece", then MGS3 would be described as a "Epic Masterpiece".

The Storytelling was executed very well. The gameplay really got me hooked into the game. The graphics were once again just beautiful. Some of the best Boss Fights ever came from MGS3 and of course the last Boss Battle and the Ending. Emotional, Thrilling and Epic. I never thought game endings could get this good.

3rd Favourite MGS title closely behind 2nd MGS1

When I played it for like the first 1 or 2 hours. I hated the game because I was so not used to it. Then I just fell in love with it when I learned the controls and when I figured out how to move like a SNAKE!

MGS3: 10/10

Loved it. A nice change of gamplay from the last 2 games. Loved the new stealth mechanic relying more on camouflage than on cover and line of sight. The new setting was also a refreshing change and some of the bosses were just superb. I don't think I've ever experienced playing a sniper as wonderfully as in this game. The graphics were also brilliant for the console. Lastly, the story and the ending was just plain perfect.

9,5/10. Almost as good as the first one. Amazing graphics, story and gameplay.

IMO, it holds a place in the top 5 of best games EVER, that ending made me cry, like a little boy, i was standing in front of my TV, crying and clapping when i saw the credits...
