well personally I would count Demon's Souls as a jRPG. So if we're just basing things off meta that would be the best jRPG on consoles.

According to VGChartz, it's the best RPG this gen. I haven't played it yet, but since it seems to be part SRPG there is a limit to how much I'll like it.

No one in the world ever gets what they want, and that is beautiful.
