I think we all understand ur point,
yes it will dangerous for Sony to right now claimed that in "some" months the 80gb model will be sold at 500 euros because people will maybe want to wait before buying it (slowing the sales).
But I agree with others that for the moment, sony never stated that the price of the 80gb model, after the 60gb model is gone, will be 500$.
Like you, I expect it will be 500$ but we still dont know (from what I heard on different website.
