Er, no I'm not surprised. What gave you that impression? The BBC reports on events assuming (usually correctly) that the audience has little or no knowledge of the subject. The majority of people who play games are not hardcore gamers and do not read gaming websites. This is the way most people who play games in the UK will see E3. No screaming about Final Fantasy (almost no-one outside of the hardcore remotely cares), no ZOMG NinTenDO FaILez!!! The things presented in this article are the things that matter to most people who play games. I'm also interested to see how E3 news is presented in other countries, so if anyone has articles please post them.
