Much of the Versus staff got moved to FFXIII to get it out.  At either the SE conference or last week, I don't remember, they talked about it.

I beleive that was debunked.

 

What you are thinking of is the rumor that versus was put on hold, which Square dismissed.

So I was overstating for saying moved, but I think this is spin from SE.  "When free" I've never heard of any programmer, artist, or engineer in the game industry ever having free time.
