The end of this year and the start of next year is going to be a killer for shooters, especially if you're like me and others and you own both the PS3 and the Xbox360.
Heres the four upcoming shooter exclusives that im ranking in terms of excitement and anticipaton.
1. Left 4 Dead - The whole game screams new and exciting experience. I don't think I will have much time to play other games if this one is as good as it looks. Its also Valve, and they have never let me down once so as soon as found I loved the concept the game HAD to go to number one.
2. Killzone 2 - I HATED the first one, it was such a letdown that I wrote it off completely for the next attempt. This time round, the gameplay looks slick and the vibe is simply class watching the gameplay. Very few games exhude such class through a trailer and I have to pop it in at number two because of it.
3. Gears of War 2 - Take one great game, tweak it right, and then you have an awesome game. The guys at Epic have really outdone themselves in how they've improved the look, feel, pacing, and style of the game. It seems they've listened to all the major complaints about the first game and addressed them without losing the style of what made the game awesome in the first place.
4. Resistance: Fall of Man 2 - It looks quite good, but it even after watching a ton of trailers it didn't grab me like the other 3 games in the list. I will definately play the game but it seems to lack for me the X-factor that AAA games like the other 3 have in my opinion. Im still wondering if they've done more than tweak the first concept or if they'll step up to offer something magical like the other 3 games that I haven't seen yet.
In terms of anticipation it goes 1 > 2 >>3 >>>>4 which shows how close Killzone 2 is to supplanting my favourite developer of all time.
