I was in love with a woman, she was the jealous type. I would have spent the rest of my life with her and been happy but the jealousy got out of hand.

She met my childhood friend (who a was a girl, she was my prom date, we never had any physical or romantic moments) and literally went insane with jealousy.

Four the next two years, whenever my love would get angry or drunk she would bring up my old childhood friend and accuse me of being in love with her. It never even entered my mind (longer story). But she also got jealous when she would meet women I work with, my friends girlfriends, etc. But most frequently was my old friend.

Anyway, I had to end it. It was difficult. It took countless tries to actually end it for good. She's now out of my life.

After years of not talking to either of them,, I get a call from my old childhood friend, who now lives in California (I live in Florida, they are not close). The minute I heard her voice, I realized that my ex was right about her. How could I not have noticed.

She was telling me she was heading back to Florida. I didn't put all the pieces together right away, but after a few calls I realized (with some strong hints) that she was coming back for me. I am not good with hints, so I figured I'd jokingly ask:

"Hey, you wanna get married in Vegas on your way over here."

Ha. You don't joke about marriage with a never married single girl over 26. You just don't.

She didn't laugh when she said yes.

We're not getting married in Vegas right away, but she will be here in a few weeks.

Hope you enjoyed the story.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
