Eh. I will defend Nintendo here:
They still have a good lineup of games, and a treasure trove of IPs they can easily bank on. The issue was/is the fact of what they showed: nothing important for the core audience. That's disturbing because it makes core Wii owners worry that more and more focus will be on those type of games.
However, the Wii still (obviously) has great potential. The issue is that Nintendo itself isn't really the ones that are innovating above what they've already done by promoting titles with truely unique, new features for core gamers. For casuals, yes, absolutely. But not for guys like me that want to buy a Wii for my dad for shooting games.
