Sony is phasing out the 60 gb to be replaced by the 80gb

I just don't get why they announced this, this should have been done normally and after the 60 gb sold out they should have said: 'ok the new sku is 80 gb at 500 dollars' limited edition is 80 gb + a game or it's over with.
