The fighting games are easy to finish. What they do is rip all the sprites and backgrounds out of the original games and just work on hit detections and writing code. They're usually very off from the originals anyways, because everyone thinks they understand game balance better than the real developers and totally screw the balance of the game up. Making original sprites is time consuming as is original fighting engines, especially card based ones. MUGEN is also way past it's popularity point, so even a desire to finish is diminished because there's not much of an audience left. I wouldn't bank on this getting to a playable point ever. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and DC vs. Marvel never made it there and they were easier and probably less ambitious, and more mainsteam. But we can all hope. I'll give it a whirl if it ever finishes.

did you even go to the site and read the stuff?..the game is done..all they have to do is add characters now..(still using old Mugen Music and old Mugen backgrounds though) they focused on the gameplay and characters..
they are having really periodical updates lately..and they are planning on releasing a demo soon..
I don't think you get it..but MUGEN will not be in the game's name..as game engines are not important to the consumer...the game is...the product...seriously...
get that through you skull..nobody CARES if it's using Mugen or an original engine...it works..looks funa dn cool it's a must have.. period
you don't like? too bad for you ^_~
