I think the announcement has put the entire site in to some sort of crazed coma of sorts, I see a ton of comments like BAMZOOLA MUTHAFUCKA, WHAT NEEDS IZ THERE TO BUY A PS3 NOW?!/?/1!??' And all sorts of just ridiculous claims. If FFXIII was EXCLUSIVE to the 360, this would be a blow, but as far as I can tell, the PS3's still getting it...

If anyone was waiting for this game to come out to buy a PS3, then they obviously haven't given much of a crap about the current 360 lineup :/ GRANTED, I don't want the comments to end, this is HORRIDLY entertaining :D But man, anyone who thinks that this announcement is going to...

A. Save the 360 in Japan

B. Make the 360 sell 10,000,000 extra units,

C. Make ALL the people wanting it on PS3 buy it for 360 instead

are entirely delusional -_-; The PS3's been outselling the 360 regardless of things like number of "AAA" exclusives, cost, marketshare, live etc etc etc and if you guys really believe that another multi-plat is going to change that... Well I wish you good luck with that but I won't be holding my breath :/

If anything, not to sound like a complete fanboy (which SOME of you know I'm not), this is a very bad thing for FFXIII :/ Sure more people get to play it, and it'll definitely make more money for Square, but for the sake of quality alone, I'm actually very much so disappointed, to the fact that Versus, is now my most anticipated RPG :\ Let me explain.

Many people can agree or disagree with MANY things regarding the final fantasy series, ranging from story, to characters, to battle systems, settings etc etc etc. The list goes on forever, but one thing almost always seemed to be unanymous, the games were almost always technical masterpieces. The envelope they pushed was absolutely amazing every generation of title, and thats SADLY a major plus for me, I always loved how amazing a new Final Fantasy looked and was always blown away by the sheer quality they could bring to the table :P

This time however >_>; Squaresoft (skrew enix I dun like them much anyway ;/ DQ can suck it), is going to have to play to the weakness of both consoles for this baby, now not to say it's going to look BAD by any means, but it CAN'T be what it could have been had it gone exclusive, and I have a feeling this will work out much better for the 360, Unreal Engine games so far seem to be the if-so-fact-o bread and butter for "quality" titles on the 360, sporting the highest amount of uber tech, but as I mentioned in another thread, the same is not true of the PS3. The PS3 showcases insane amounts of tech prowess from it's home-grown, custom tailored engines.

Now FFXIII being multi-plat could mean that the 360 is about to get it's finest looking title ever, but I have this strange feeling I'm going to yawn about it on the PS3. Had the game stayed exlcusive, I bet we'd be seeing full optimization for PS3 hardware, but now.... I'm not so sure :/ This will be the most fanboyish comment I've made in a while, but I truely believe the 360 is going to drag this title through the dirt to get equal quality on both systems. I'm wondering how the load times will be (they haven't been so hot on 360 rpg's :( ), I wonder if we'll get to use HDD space seeing as how Microsoft botched that one pretty bad, I'm wondering if we'll get out uncompressed audio that I personally have become accustomed to, etc etc etc. This is no longer a title that I'm dying to get my hands on to brag about what my system can do. That rpg is now reserved for FFXIII versus, as long as it stays exclusive that is. I'm happy that more people will get to play it :P But a little piece of me just died on the inside, and it has nothing to do with Sony or Microsoft, I just feel sorry for the little FFXIII that could have been. I'll still hope for Versus though ><
