Whatever, Microsoft just officially got going.... The Live Update is far from a rip-off, okay, the avatars are similar to Nintendo, only they look three.... no 10 times better, 8 person chat capabilities, watch Netflix movies in Instant Queue with your friends, go in and out of games with a party of up to 8 people. Sony just got done trying to become comparable to XBOX Live and Nintendo has never been close, and now Microsoft just pulled way ahead again. And I didn't even put everything the Live update is going to offer in there, and you can best believe XBOX will announce more new titles throughout E3, they wanted to get the first shots in today and they will probably have more announcements tomorrow during certain other companies press conferences just so people don't stop talking about Microsoft during the entirety of E3. And let's not forget, most of us that post on this site are gamers of the hardcore genre, Microsoft wants to win this generation, and to do that they have to appeal to every genre of the gaming world. So while you or I may not have cared for some of the announcements they made throughout the press conference, I as an XBOX 360 fan was very excited about every announcement they made because it showed they are infiltrating every possible genre with something new. The press conference today simply showed that there is alot of games and content for EVERY gamer in the world no matter what kind of gamer you are. Hardcore or Casual.

Step 1) Remove Blinders

Step 2) Learn about what Sony and Wii have in development and already done.

The Live Update's new features are all "Sony Home Lite" Sony has been developing these very things on a grander scale for a very long time. MS halfed solution of inviting 7 other people to a "party" in a space with a bleek gray background has nothing on Home's ability to invite many friends into your own designed pad.

The layout is a cross between XMB and Wii Channels, MS isnt even hiding that fact as they are calling them Channels.

The Miis represent almost a decade of development. They are designed to be inviting, easy to make, and very expressive of personality. Nintendo succeeded in doing this. Rare's halfed attempt is both pathetic and full of fail. In fact, click on a Zwinky ad on this site and find an avatar service that is bettre than Rare's. These are nothing more than the result of MS's desire to have a feature/benefit bullet point that says: "avatar."

Primetime game show thingy, already on WiiWare with Mii Integration. The only added feature this one has is the ability to be a spectator in the game, which is lame. I did NOT buy my 360 to watch other people play video games. Also, Kim's comment that "never before has one been able to integrate their avatar into a game" can be negated by virtue of WiiSports.

You're in the movies has been done on PS2 and Gameboy color before that.

There's more. But the point is MS is flailing. They cant compete with Ninty and Sony is really taking them to the mat. They are trying to ignite interest with these halfed ideas and they are also dropping prices, but they have to face it. 360 has reached it's apex and will not achieve growth.
