Wow, the DS is being used in schools in Japan? That is huge. If that expands to extended use for entire school districts and regions, Nintendo has just done something amazing: they've made a video game machine mandatory for 6-18 year olds to own.

That's right. It should no longer be called the Nintendo "DS," but the Nintendo "mandatory." It's essential-licious!
