There are two major differences between Sony's actions and Microsoft's:

- Sony were cancelling one SKU to put an inferior SKU on the market, Microsoft is putting a better one out.

- Sony didn't tell consumers a new model was coming out and they were having a clearance sale, Microsoft did.

Thats some of the nicest spin I've ever seen.  Unfortunately the original price drop and new SKU announcements were made SEPERATELY, with a reasonable amount of time in between.
