Well then let's start with the fact that Nintendo has sold more gaming systems than Sony over the last ten years [1], and after that I'd like to ask you for your source for VCR and DAT player market share.

[1] Nintendo: GB 53m + GBA 81m + GC 22m + DS 75m + Wii 28m = 259m gaming systems. Sony: PS1 70m + PS2 120m + PSP 36m + PS3 14m = 240m gaming systems, 19m less than Nintendo. All according to VGchartz. For GB and PS1 I only took the shipments after March'98.

Holy cr#p buddy, do u even know what the line "controls the living room" means? For a compnay to control the living room they need to get into every aspect of it, such as the DVD player, the TV,  the speakers, the remotes, the EVERYTHING IN A LIVING ROOM. Also, people buy handhelds to play them outside or on the road not to sit in their living room, so its more like GC 22 m + wii 28 m VS PS1 70m + PS2 120 m + PS3 14 m

A company needs to be in more then just games to control a living room! Your logic has begun to p#ss me off!

Now now Gearbox. You need to play nice in the sandbox with reverie. Consider this your warning.

To comment on your post, wouldn't controlling the living room mean controlling both the electronics aspect and the furniture aspect? I mean not everyone has a game system, DVD player or even a T.V. in their living room, but everybody has furniture in it. What say you on that sir?
