Currently in Calgary anyone can find a job (my company is looking to hire 30 software developers) but the wages have not matched the cost of living increases; my rent on a 500 square foot apartment is $1200 per month.

Sounds like gothenburg, I just hope that the socialist will keep the rents down there is a good thing with non-market rents for apartments :) still the rents is close to 700 USD a month for a really small apartments.
