Like has been exhaustively stated already, Microsoft will never make a system without a way for physical games to be inserted, most likely some kind of optical media. However, I could see them allowing developers to put all of their games on Xbox Live AND Blu-Ray (if that's their format).

They'd definitely need to make XBL free, if that were the case, though.

I would agree it cant be completely done w/o some sort of media drive. Truth is however that people will want some sort of way to buy things more quickly (rather then to go to the store and to get it). Internet will get better in the future (fiber optics) and digital distribution can easily be distributed without outages and overloads. Might be a 50/50 split depending on prices but truth is we want things done quickly (iPhone.)

Above I'm a proud Gran Turismo fan, not a Sony fanboy, and now a proud 360 owner, but sharing xbox live accts ATM

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil
