As to the OP, Sony does not control BD, they are part of a consortium, and probably come in 3rd when it comes to power on that board. Sony will make money off of BD, but that's about it. They didn't gain the ability to completely limit what goes on a BD, or who uses them in the future. If MS wants to put a BD in there next console, they will.

Yes but what is the benefit of that space? Not much. It's not like a 400gig disc is going to make the sound and picture like something from the year 2025. It's not like they will put a whole series of Lost on 1 disc and sell it for the price of a movie. Maybe they will include loads of extra features on the disc but who really cares other than the biggest geeks. So really what is the benefit of a 400gb or even 1000gb disc. Now if there was a small sized 400gb blu-ray disc that you could play on a disc man or something then I would see a true benefit.
