Going dd road is way-of-no-no, if they want big userbase.
Next gen will be discbased (Blu-ray most likely).
But Nintendo might go their own way and put their games on Sd-cards (or some other card-based format)
If you look SdHc/Cf-cards price evolution for last 12 months (for 16 gigs cards), SdHc-cards have fallen in 6 months to the 1/3 they were in price in february and Cf-cards cost less than half now what they were in february.
I can only imagine much much less they are gonna cost in 2-4 years when Nintendo/MS/Sony releases their next console.
Nothing's cheaper than something free.
F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.
