Gears 2=Halo 3 in terms of upgrade from the predecessor.

Gow2 better have an amazing storyline at least 10 times bettter than Gow1 or Halo's if it is going to win me over. If there isn't a vast improvement in that area then GoW2 is going to be quite a disappointingly stangnant "upgrade".

Cliff seems to be doing that by hiring a novelist/comic book writer.

 

 

True, but I doubt they'll give him much creative freedom to write a truly compelling story considering that cliff dissed exactly the richly detailed narrative of MGS4. I'm expecting 2 minute cutscenes of melodrama interlaced with 1 minute `badass`action scenes.

Quite a few cutscenes in Gears 1 were 5min +

 

 

I am starting to wonder if 360 owners will play a story-heavy shooter.  If MGS4's sales are any indication, then maybe.
