I don't care whether people agree. I'm just discussing it. And I'm not against levelling up. I'm against throwing levelled up people against non-levelled up people in the same ranked match. The idea that we will see more of COD4-type play in the future is exactly what scares me. Look at the guy earlier in the thread who said he can't get more than three kills in a Halo match but he can dominate in a COD 4 match simply because he has all the perks and advantages over new players. Isn't that a problem for a game? The point about hardcore is that it's just a mode of for the game, not the main game. No one buys games for one mode.

I said that about halo3, and it wasn't the perks that made me better, I was saying halo 3 only rewards one kind of player(in my opinion), ones that are insanely good at jumping around and aiming at your head. I just felt Call Of duty rewards more styles of play, I could be crappier at aiming, use the left trigger to aim steadier and just be sneakier around the board, so even though I don't have great aim, im' stealthy and am good at spotting guys.
But the 2 areas I agree with you in are: Matching, and unfair killing spree abilities.
they do tend to throw you in matches with absurdly higher level guys. With that said though the ranks are not based on skill so much as time put in the game, i've played prestige mode 10 guys that weren't that good at all. So it's not too bad, but I'm all for a better mechanic that gauges your skill and pits you against players of equal skill.
And I like the killing spree perks, but they are sort of unfair especially on a board like shipment and a guy calls in a helicopter, it's just absurd. So that could use some balance, I know they had a tough time balancing that from interviews. I also wished it had halo 3's level of detail, stats are my biggest complaint honestly, I've even completely missed game stats, it really pisses me off I can't look at them after the fact, I hope they add a bungie.net type interface for the next one because thats the best thing about halo 3, that and the ability to even record a whole game, I really wish that was in cod4.
Honestly what I really like about cod4 over halo is simply this: left trigger allows for zoomed sight aiming for a steadier shot, and kills are quick and easy. I suck at halo 3 because I keep getting stuck in a giant shooting battle were I empty an entire clip and keep missing enough to allow the guy to turn around and kill me. that really bugs me. and no matter how many hours I played, i could not get better at the freaking game. I never have had a game where I have gotten more then 7 kills. That is so frustrating to me, I pretty much vowed to never play halo again.
